Denis Corboy is Director of the Caucasus Policy Institute at King’s College, University of London. Prior to joining King’s, he was EU Ambassador to Georgia and Armenia 1994-1999, and returned to Georgia as EU Special Envoy in 2002. Before serving as EU Ambassador, Mr. Corboy was political adviser in the Directorate General for Development at the European Commission in Brussels with responsibility for Human Rights and Democracy in developing countries. From1982 to 1987, he worked as the Director of Press and Public Affairs of the EC Delegation to the United States in Washington and previously as Head of the European Commission Office in Ireland, before and following Ireland’s accession to the EEC. Denis Corboy began his career as a practising Barrister on the Munster Circuit. He was one of the founders and the first General Secretary of the European Movement in Ireland.
