Olonisakin PictureDr. Funmi Olonisakin is the Director of the Conflict, Security and Development Group (CSDG), King's College London. Within the CSDG, Dr. Olonisakin established the Knowledge Building and Mentoring Programme and developed the Women, Peace and Security Programme. Prior to this, she worked in the office of the United Nations' Special Representative of the Secretary General for Children and Armed Conflict. She is a member of the international advisory board of the Geneva Centre for Democratic Control of Armed Forces and serves on the international advisory board of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry's Training for Peace programme. She is also an active member of the African Security Sector Network (ASSN). Dr. Olonisakin has published extensively, some of her most recent books include Reinventing Peacekeeping in Africa, Peacekeeping in Sierra Leone: The Story of UNAMSIL, and co-authored Global Development and Human Security.
