Steve Simon is currently a Hasib J. Sabbagh
Senior Fellow for Middle Eastern Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations
and an Adjunct Professor of Middle East Security Studies at Georgetown University.
Mr. Simon is the former Director for Global Issues and Senior Director for
Transnational Threats at the National Security Council and has also served as
the Deputy Director of the International Institute for Strategic Studies. He is
the award-winning co-author of The Age of
Sacred Terror and The Next Attack, both co-authored with Daniel Benjamin. Mr. Simon's other publications include: In Their Own Words, After the Surge: The Case for U.S. Military
Disengagement from Iraq and Building
a Successful Palestinian State, which he co-authored as a Senior Analyst at the Rand Institute. His current work examines the consequences of the American
intervention in Iraq,
Muslim/non-Muslim relations and the role of religion in U.S. foreign
policy.
