ICSR’s Senior Fellow, Shiraz Maher, gave an entertaining and insightful account of his recent trip to Cairo, where he observed events firsthand in Tahrir Square. Shiraz spent a week in Cairo at the start of the protests, and spoke to the main opposition leaders whilst he was there.
Shiraz addressed the problems that this creates for the West, whether this is an Islamist takeover or if this is Egypt’s 1979.
