ICSR has the pleasure of inviting you to an expert talk and interactive session on the Syrian conflict. We are honoured to host Daniel Gerlach, current Editor-in-Chief of the German Middle East quarterly magazine zenith and Director General of the CANDID Foundation.
Daniel Gerlach will give a presentation on the topic “Power and Sectarianism: Who are Syria’s Alawites?”, thereby decrypting myth and reality of an often misapprehended community and its fateful relationship with the Syrian Regime.
ICSR Research Fellow Haid Haid will comment on the current situation, elaborating on future scenarios for political solutions. This will be followed by a discussion chaired by ICSR Research Fellow Inna Rudolf.
