Belle Riley Thompson is the Project Manager for the Global Network on Extremism and Technology (GNET) at ICSR. Prior to joining GNET, she worked in journalism, public diplomacy, and has conducted research on the link between conspiracy movements and the various forces that radicalise them towards extremism.

She is currently concluding her MA at King’s College London in Terrorism, Security, and Society. Belle’s research focuses on how utopias are deployed in extremist radicalisation.

Belle holds a Bachelor’s in Journalism and Humanities (High Distinction) from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, where she was awarded the Senate Medal for Outstanding Academic Achievement.
