
Senior Research Fellow
Dr Folahanmi Aina is Research Director for the Global Network on Extremism and Technology (GNET) and a Senior Research Fellow at ICSR. A political scientist by training, he completed a second Masters’ degree in African Studies at the University of Oxford, having earlier completed a master’s degree in international development policy from Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea. He obtained a doctorate degree in Leadership Studies with reference to Security and Development at the School of Global Affairs, King’s College London. He is a recipient of several awards including the General Lamine Cissé Young Researcher Award by Partners Global. His research interests include the technology and international security nexus, terrorism, insurgency, and extremism. His works have been published in several reputable international academic journals.
